Road to 100

So... I went to LIFETIME with Lauren tonight. The facilities are incredible. Honestly, I was expecting them to be nice, but I was waiting to make my real conclusion based on the quality of the climbing wall. Colleen loves to climb, and I think I could really start to get into it. So if I join, where ever I join, I would really like a nice wall. After going to Vertical Endeavors in Warrenville, my standards were pretty high. The wall in Algonquin is really nice... it's no VE, but I never expected that.

I can really see myself joining this place...

Too bad the membership fee is $60 a month. I know, I know. It's not absolutely crazy, but still being a student, only working part time, and paying for all of my everyday needs... $60 still seems like a lot.

We'll see what happens.

Aside from that, I rode a solid 18.5 miles on a bike, and felt damn good about it. Considering the fact that I haven't worried about keeping myself in any kind of "athletic shape" since... ever, I was pumped. For the past 8 years, I have relied on everything marching band to keep me in shape. Trust me, I was in fine shape, thanks to carrying a drum around for 10-20 hours a week.

I'm not quite sure what will happen to these stats over time, but my average speed was 17.5 mph, I burned roughly 500 calories, and my pedal cadence was a pretty consistent 110 rpm.

I feel good, and well on my way to 100. Riding gives me this super-healthy feeling, and I love it.
